Red Bud man arrested for Waterloo burglary

A 40-year-old Red Bud man faces burglary charges stemming from an incident that occurred in Waterloo on Thanksgiving morning. Jimmy D. Jones, 40, of Red Bud, was arrested and charged with felony residential burglary and burglary for break-ins that occurred about 6 a.m. Thursday in the 200 block of Magnolia Avenue.

Police said Jones entered a building on the property at 208 Magnolia and a home at 206 Magnolia. He allegedly entered the home at 206 Magnolia by breaking glass on an attached garage door.

“The family in the home sheltered themselves and the responding officer took one male into custody for burglary inside the home,” Waterloo Police Chief Jim Trantham said. “The male was tased during the incident when he refused to obey the officer’s commands.”
