The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department reported on Saturday that three large cannabis plants were seized from a “grow site” discovered in a corn field located in the area of Maeystown Road at Long Lake Road.

The estimated street value of the seized marijuana plants is $12,000, police said.

Police said the farmer came upon the pot plants while harvesting the corn with his combine. The plants were found about 30 rows into the field.

“If you have any information on who is responsible for manufacturing or selling any narcotics, please contact the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department,” Monroe County Sheriff Neal Rohlfing said.

The number to reach the sheriff’s department is 939-8651.
