Columbia Police

Dec. 3
Darrell R. Gamblin, 45, of Columbia, was arrested on a Monroe County warrant at the police department.

Dec. 7
Police and EMS assisted the Columbia Fire Department in responding to a chimney fire in the attic area of 135 Hayden Drive, located near Frontage Road, around 12:50 a.m. No injuries were reported. Fire Chief Mike Roediger said quick response from firemen kept damage to a minimum. The interior wall near the fireplace received damage.

Devon L. McClenahan, 29, of Columbia, was arrested for driving while license suspended and illegal transportation of alcohol in the 500 block of South Main Street.

Dec. 8
Kevin P. Magee, 24, of Columbia, was arrested for DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis and illegal transportation of alcohol on Admiral Parkway at Veterans Parkway.

Dec. 9
Harley R. Howard, 20, of Waterloo, was arrested for battery.

Dupo Police

Dec. 5
Police and emergency responders handled an incident around 4:30 p.m., after a man in his 30s was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street outside Good Tymes Saloon in Dupo. The tavern is located at 200 N. Main Street in Dupo. Police identified the person struck as Jeremy Raeber of Dupo. He was transported to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Monroe County Sheriff

Dec. 3
Gary Snyders of Waterloo was arrested on a Monroe County warrant on LRC Road.

Dec. 4
Joshua Doty of Waterloo was arrested on a warrant at the courthouse.

Timothy Britt of Cahokia was arrested on a Monroe County warrant.

Dec. 5
William Kramer of New Athens and Taliaferro Slaughter of Caseyville were each arrested on Monroe County warrants.

The theft of power tools from a home under renovation on West Monroe Street in Hecker between Oct. 28 and Dec. 5 is under investigation.

St. Clair County Sheriff

Dec. 5
Emergency responders in St. Clair County rescued a 75-year-old hunter who fell out of a deer stand shortly after 8:30 a.m. in dense woods near Pike Sawmill Road, not far from the Kaskaskia River. The man was rescued shortly after 11 a.m. and transported to an area hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

Valmeyer Police

Dec. 9
Samantha B. Ahrens, 21, of Valmeyer, was charged with felony theft over $500 following a Sept. 25 incident in which she allegedly stole jewelry from someone.

Waterloo Police

Dec. 3
Levi V. House, 22, of Waterloo, was arrested for possession of cannabis at 311 Front Street.

Dec. 6
Garrin Hilgers, 43, of Oklahoma, was arrested for violating an order of protection at Walmart.
