Sunday night rollover crash on I-255

Emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle rollover crash on eastbound I-255 just east of the Jefferson Barracks Bridge in Columbia at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

One car was reported to have come to rest on its roof following the crash.

Illinois State Police said a silver 2020 Chevrolet driven by Michael P. Bryan, 33, of St. Louis, rear-ended a red 2011 Honda sedan driven by William J. Duffin, 53, of Waterloo.

ISP said both vehicles were traveling east on I-255. As a result of the collision, the Honda rolled over once before coming to rest in the center lane of traffic. Duffin did not require medical transport.

Bryan, who was arrested for DUI, no insurance and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
