Police and emergency personnel responded to a motorcycle crash in the 5200 area of Bluff Road near Outlet Road south of Valmeyer. The call for service went out shortly after 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

The male rider of a Harley-Davidson, Timothy Owens of Marissa, and his female passenger, Rochelle Schwankhaus of Okawville, were injured in the crash but were conscious and alert at the scene. A deputy requested a Survival Flight Emergency Transport Services helicopter be flown to the crash site.

Owens was airlifted to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Monroe County EMS also responded and transported Schwankhaus by ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis.
