The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Gibault Catholic High School tennis player Maddie Davis. The senior, who has also played basketball, soccer, volleyball and cross country for the Hawks, competed at No. 1 singles for Gibault girls tennis this fall. Davis won her opening match at the Class 1A Althoff Sectional in October, upsetting Aubrey Hunter of Marquette before falling to Ella Mostoller from Mascoutah.
