The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Valmeyer Lakers hitting and pitching standout Kenny Otero. A former baseball player at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo., Otero ranks second in the Mon-Clair League with a .431 batting average and is fifth in the league in ERA at 2.27 to go along with a 4-1 pitching mark for the first place Lakers.
