Julia “Julie” Ann Kentch | Obituary

Julia  “Julie” Ann  Kentch (nee Gonzalez), 58, of Cahokia, died Sept. 5, 2015, at Relais Bonne Eau Hospice House in Edwardsville.

She was born Jan. 6, 1957, in East St. Louis, daughter of Julio Gonzalez of Belleville and the late Dolores Gonzalez (nee Costello).

Julie was employed by Ameren Electric in St. Louis. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Cahokia. She was an avid St. Louis Blues hockey fan and a strong advocate of organized labor. She was a very proud member of the I.B.E.W. Local 1455 of St. Louis.

Surviving are her husband, Timothy B. Kentch; her children, Andrew J. Kentch of St. Louis, Kathleen E. (Ashley North) Kentch of St. Louis, and Michael  P. Kentch of Fairview Heights; her father; sister Angela (Tony) Bates of Belleville; and her fur babies Dori, Reece, Sam, Annie and Rizzold. She was also a dear aunt, niece, cousin and friend.

She was preceded in death by her mother, brother-in-law Christopher S. Kentch and sister in law Kathleen F. McLaurin.

Visitation was Sept. 7-8, at Braun Family Funeral Home, Columbia.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Sept. 8, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Cahokia, with Monsignor John Myler officiating.

Interment followed at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville.

Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Holy Family Catholic Church, Cahokia.
