Jean E. Buettner | Obituary

Jean E. Buettner, 89, of Waterloo, died April 9, 2024, in Waterloo. She was born June 2, 1934, in Wartburg.

Jean is a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Wartburg, where she was an organist for 50 years, taught Sunday school and was the secretary. She also was the former administrative assistant to the president of the Lutheran Missouri Synod Church.

She is survived by her brother Kenneth Buettner; nieces and nephews Patricia (Terry) Mosbacher, David (Delberta) Buettner, Scott (Stacey) Buettner and Todd (Amy) Buettner; great-nieces and nephews Andrew (Andrea Degener) Buettner, Megan Kelley, Callie and Haylie Buettner, Logan and Kyndal Buettner and Jessica Buettner (Corey Herweck); and great-great-niece and nephew Brynlee Pollard and Carson Kelley.

She is preceded in death by her parents Rudolph and Ardina (nee Hoffmann) Buettner and brother Robert Buettner.

Visitation is 9 a.m. until time of service April 15 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Wartburg.

A funeral will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Rev. Dan Ostlund  officiating.

Interment will be at Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery in Wartburg.

As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to Holy Cross Lutheran Church – Wartburg.
