The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Valmeyer Lakers pitcher Jacob Thompson. The southpaw pitched a complete game two-hitter in game one of the Mon-Clair League playoff finals Saturday at Borsch Park in Valmeyer. During the regular season, Thompson posted a 4-1 pitching mark with a 1.63 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 30 innings.
