Hockey season skates on

The annual Raging Bulldogs Alumni Game took place Dec. 17 at the new RP Lumber Center ice rink in Edwardsville, pitting current members of the Freeburg-Waterloo hockey squad against former players from the combined program over the years. In the end, the Raging Bulldogs Alumni took the narrow win, 11-10.

In local high school club ice hockey action, Columbia (7-3-3) posted a 4-4 tie with Collinsville on Thursday at RP Lumber Center in Edwardsville.

Jack Reuss scored a goal and had three assists for the Eagles.

With 25 goals and eight assists, Reuss ranks third in the Mississippi Valley Club Hockey Association in scoring so far this season. 

Columbia battled unbeaten Edwardsville on Tuesday night before facing Collinsville this Friday evening at the McKendree Metro Rec Plex in O’Fallon. 

The Freeburg-Waterloo Raging Bulldogs (10-4) return to action this Thursday against Triad at RP Lumber Center. 

Connor Blair leads the Raging Bulldogs in scoring so far this season with 16 goals and 11 assists.
