Gas line struck in Columbia

The Columbia Fire Department responded about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday to the area of Southwoods Drive near Moto Mart after a Columbia Department of Public Works employee accidentally struck a four-inch gas line, resulting in a gas leak.

Columbia police and EMS personnel assisted in responding to the incident.

Firefighters had the gas shut off by about 2:55 p.m., per emergency radio dispatch communications.
