The Columbia Police Department and area police are on the lookout for a maroon 2000 Ford 4-door vehicle involved in a hit and run Tuesday at Route 3 southbound just before the 158 East exit in Columbia.

Cynthia Overall, 29, of Mascoutah was driving a black 2002 Kia Sedona in the passing lane when the Ford struck her from behind, causing her to lose control of the vehicle and end up in the median.

The driver of the Ford — who Overall described as a thin white male or female with dirty blonde hair and black roots at shoulder length and not more than 25 years old — continued driving southbound on Route 3.

Columbia Police and EMS responded to the incident at about 5:30 p.m. Overall was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville after she complained of pain in her head, left wrist and forearm. The CPD sent out an ISPERN to Illinois State Police District 11.
