Emergency personnel responded shortly after 7 p.m. to a two-vehicle injury crash on North Main Street near Wedgewood Drive in Columbia.

Police said a 2013 Volkswagen sedan driven by April Thomason, 26, of Valmeyer, was traveling north on Main Street and had slowed due to traffic when it was rear-ended by a 2016 Chevy sedan driven by Liliana Burgdorf, 21, of Red Bud. Burgdorf was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Both drivers were transported to Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County for treatment of minor injuries.
