Smoke in basement of Columbia home

The Columbia Fire Department responded about 4:15 p.m. Thursday to a possible structure fire in the 700 block of Eastwood Street off Breidecker Street in Columbia.

Upon arrival, a light haze of smoke was detected in the basement of the residence.

The fire department cleared the scene within about 20 minutes.
