Two injured in crash on Maeystown Road

Waterloo police and fire departments, along with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, responded to a rollover crash with injuries in the area of 6287 Maeystown Road near JJ Road just within Waterloo city limits. The call for service went out about 7:10 a.m. Sunday.

An ARCH helicopter airlifted one patient, a 17-year-old girl, to St. Louis University Hospital and another patient, a 15-year-old girl, was transported via Monroe County EMS ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center. The car involved in the crash was a red 2009 Nissan.

Police said the 17-year-old is a junior at Waterloo High School. She was a passenger in the car and was ejected in the crash. She was still listed in critical condition as of Monday.

The 15-year-old was driving the car, police said. She was released from the hospital on Sunday. It was believed that the car was traveling southbound on Maeystown Road when the crash occurred.
