River cleanup March 15 in New Athens

Volunteers are needed for the first of two annual river cleanup days on the Kaskaskia River.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in partnership with the Kaskaskia Mariners Association, are hosting the first event at the New Athens boat ramp. This event is focused on the cleanup of litter and other debris located around the New Athens portion of the river.

Volunteers will meet at the ramp on Saturday, March 15, at 9 a.m.

Attendees are asked to dress appropriate for the weather. High boots and gloves are recommended.
