Richard A. Gleiber | Obituary

Richard A. Gleiber, 78, of Waterloo, died Sept. 16, 2017, in Waterloo. 

He was born Oct. 3, 1938, in East St. Louis, son of the late Roland and Gertrude Gleiber (nee Feldmeier).

He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Waterloo.

He was a member of the Waterloo Municipal Band since 1952, and was a life member of Morris Lodge #787.

He retired from Moffitt Oil Company.

He is survived by his wife Lorena Gleiber (nee Sensel); children Carol (Brad) Matthias and Thomas (Gavin Gray) Gleiber; grandson Archer Matthias; along with nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister LuAnn (Ed) Brueggemann.

Visitation was Sept. 18, at Quernheim Funeral Home; and Sept. 19, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Waterloo.

Funeral services were Sept. 19, at the church, Pastor Merlyn Lawrence officiating.

Interment followed at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery, Waterloo.

As an expression of sympathy the family prefers memorial contributions to Oak Hill Activity Fund or St. Paul United Church of Christ, Waterloo.
