Of the four local football teams, just one advanced to this year’s IHSA playoffs as the pairings were announced this weekend. Waterloo, Red Bud and Dupo all fell short in 2013 with 4-5 records in the regular season. Columbia, finishing with a 9-0 undefeated regular season record, advanced to the Class 4A IHSA playoffs as the lone area representative.

The Eagles will face Althoff Catholic Saturday at 1 p.m. at CHS in the first round. Just four games stand in the way of CHS making a trip to DeKalb for the state championships. For a Class 4A playoff bracket, mapping out that possible road, click here.
