A Red Bud woman was sentenced this week to probation and community service for the robbery of the Quick Cash store in Waterloo last January.

Mallary B. Jarrett, 29, of Red Bud, will serve 30 months of probation and perform 200 hours of community service in addition to paying $690 plus fees and serving 36 days in Monroe County Jail with credit for time already served, per the sentence handed down to her on Tuesday in Monroe County Circuit Court. Jarrett must also complete an alcohol and drug dependency evaluation as part of her sentence.

She was charged with felony aggravated robbery after she entered the Quick Cash of Illinois location at 632 N. Market Street in Waterloo shortly before 4 p.m. on Jan. 7, 2015, approached a female clerk inside the payday and title loan store while wearing a blonde wig and black baseball cap, and presented what appeared to be a real gun while demanding cash. Jarrett left the store on foot with $131 in cash from the frightened clerk, but police were able to quickly track her down and make an arrest.

The gun turned out to be a plastic toy, police said later.

Quick Cash of Illinois has operated its Waterloo location since 2004.
