Wednesday vehicle fire south of Waterloo

The Waterloo Fire Department, Monroe County EMS and Monroe County Sheriff’s Department responded just after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday for a vehicle on fire on Route 3 south of KK Road.

The vehicle, a red Chevrolet sedan, was unoccupied and fully engulfed when fire crews arrived on the scene.

Both lanes of Route 3 were shut down while the blaze was extinguished.

Traffic was restricted to one lane while emergency crews cleared the scene and awaited the arrival of a tow truck.
