Thefts from unlocked vehicles in Columbia

The Columbia Police Department is investigating multiple reports of thefts from motor vehicles in town.

The vehicle break-ins occurred between 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday, police said. There were a total of six incidents reported as of Thursday afternoon — four in the Burroughs subdivision (Burroughs Court, Burroughs Road and East Ridge) and two in the Spring Terrace area near the American Legion.

All of the thefts were from unlocked vehicles, police stressed.

Anyone who may have observed suspicious activity in those areas late Wednesday night into Thursday morning is asked to call Columbia police at 281-5151.
