Steven F. Trost | Obituary

Steven F. Trost, 71, of Ruma, died Friday, April 12, 2024, in Cahokia Heights.  

He was born to the late Ambrose and Rosemarie (nee Wnuk) Trost on Oct. 1, 1952 in St. Louis.  

Steve married Donna M. Locke on July 31, 1982, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud; she survives.  

Steve was a lifelong farmer and it was his passion.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus 12152, both in Red Bud.  Steve enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing solitaire.  

He is also survive be his sons Brad Trost (April Rodenberg) of Red Bud and Zac (Emma) Trost of Red Bud; brother Dan (Julene) Trost of Red Bud; step-grandchildren Elisabeth Hesse, Matthew Hudgens, Alice Rodenberg and Lee Rodenberg sisters-in-law Shirley (Mike) Cox of Marseilles and Barb Ridley (Sally Myers) of Sydney, Australia; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends,

He was  preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Trost and in-laws Robert and Ruth Locke.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. April 17 and 8:30-9:45 a.m. April 18 at Pechacek Funeral Homes, Red Bud.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. April 18 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Red Bud, with Msgr. Dennis Schaefer officiating.

Interment will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Red Bud.

Memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic School, Red Bud.
