Emergency personnel responded about 10:40 p.m. Saturday to a single-vehicle crash in the area of 6330 Bluff Road south of Valmeyer.

The vehicle involved was a pickup truck that had gone off the road into the ditch and struck an HTC telephone box, concrete culvert and guardrail. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Police said the truck, a 2004 Chevrolet, was driven by a 17-year-old Waterloo man. He told police he swerved to miss striking a deer when the truck veered off the roadway.
