It could be said that Waterloo’s Jake and Jenna Schwartz have cross country in their DNA.

Their parents, Nick and Beth, both ran cross country at Centralia High School and then Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

So, running just comes naturally.

The siblings have both enjoyed success this cross country season. Jenna, a freshman, took ninth place at the Class 2A Decatur Sectional on Saturday with a time of 18:24. She took first place overall at the Highland regional.

Jenna will next compete at the Class 2A state cross country meet on Saturday at Detweiler Park in Peoria…>>>
