MVC honors for WHS athletes

The winter sports season resulted in several student-athletes from Waterloo High School receiving recognition from the Mississippi Valley Conference.

In boys basketball, WHS junior Alex Stell was named second team all-conference, with seniors Caleb Yochum and Rodrigo Lopez Tercero receiving MVC honorable mentions.

In girls basketball, WHS junior Kristin Smith was named second team all-conference, with Liv Colson, Aubrey Heck and Mallory Thompson all receiving MVC honorable mentions. 

In wrestling, the MVC champion Bulldogs had 10 wrestlers earn all-conference accolades. Jackson Deutch made the first team; Matthew Deutch, Konnor Stephens, Ty Kinzinger, Bladen Sease, Brady Rose and Drew Glowacki made the second team. MVC honorable mentions went to Cainen Buechel, Jax Mifflin and Vince Goodman.

In boys bowling, Waterlooā€™s Makyah Hamilton and Braden Touchette were first team all-MVC, with Nick Bedford and Chaten Kirchner on the second team.

In girls bowling, Haylie Lewis and McKayla Lewis  were first team all-MVC, with Hannah Allen, Mady Heet and Julia Wallace all on the second team. 

In cheerleading, WHS was represented on the all-conference squad by Ellie Baker, Sophie Breitwiser, Gwyn Kempfer and Mackenzie Gower.
