A Belleville man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash early Sunday afternoon south of Waterloo.

Emergency personnel responded shortly after 1:30 p.m. to the area of 4375 JJ Road. The motorcyclist was identified as Kyle Green, 30, of Belleville.

Green, who was not wearing a helmet according to police at the scene, was initially reported to be breathing but not conscious.

The Waterloo Fire Department assisted in setting up a landing zone for Survival Flight medical helicopter to arrive and transport the injured motorcyclist.

The man was airlifted to a St. Louis area hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
