Linda K. Hern (nee Phegley), 74, of Waterloo, died April 18, 2024, in Fenton, Mo. She was born Nov. 13, 1949, in Red Bud.

She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ – Waterloo and VFW Women’s Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband George Hern; children Lesa (John) Barchet, Sandra (David) Rodenberg and Chad Hern; grandchildren Cassandra Rodenberg, Trinity Barchet and Keith Hern; sister Betty (Dave) Doiron; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents Calvin and Ruby (nee Kempfer) Phegley; granddaughter Sarah Ashbaker-Hern; and brothers Merle, Darrell, Dale and Karnal Pegley.

Visitation is 1-6 p.m. April 21 at Quernheim Funeral Home in Waterloo and 9-10 a.m. until time of service April 22 at St. Paul United Church of Christ – Waterloo.

A funeral service will follow at the church with Pastor Mary Beth Hartenstein officiating.

Interment will be at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery in Waterloo.
