The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Kameron Hanvey of the Valmeyer Lakers in the Mon-Clair League. Hanvey, a former Gibault baseball and basketball standout who plays at catcher and both the infield and outfield, led the Lakers in hitting during the regular season at .393 – good for third in the league – with 19 runs scored. During the league finals on Saturday, Hanvey went 3-for-8 at the plate in the two wins with three RBIs.
