Columbia police are investigating the theft of items from unlocked vehicles early Thursday morning.

Two cars on the parking lot of the Meadow Ridge East condominiums, located at Veterans Parkway at Westpark, were hit sometime late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, police said. An Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services unit responded to process the cars for evidence.

There are no suspects at this time, police said. Anyone who may have observed suspicious activity in that area of town around the time of these thefts is asked to call the Columbia Police Department at 281-5151.
