Hawks volleyball to compete for sectional title

The Gibault Catholic High School volleyball team defeated Pinckneyville in two games Tuesday night in the IHSA Class 2A Carterville Sectional semifinals, advancing to Thursday’s sectional final.
The Hawks defeated Pinckneyville 25-14, 25-22.
Gibault now faces Albion, who defeated host team Carterville in three games earlier Tuesday night.
The winner of Thursday’s title match advances to the McLeansboro Super-sectional, which will be played Saturday at 6 p.m.
