The Republic-Times Team of the Week is the Gibault Catholic High School soccer team coached by Matt Reeb. The Hawks (15-7-1) defeated Beardstown, 5-0, on Tuesday to win the Class 1A Granite City Supersectional. The Hawks will play Normal (University) Friday at 7 p.m. in East Peoria in the state tournament. (John Spytek photo)

Corey is the editor of the Republic-Times. He has worked at the newspaper since 2004, and currently resides in Columbia. He is also the principal singer-songwriter and plays guitar in St. Louis area country-rock band The Trophy Mules.
