The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Columbia High School softball player Elle van Breusegen. The lefthanded-hitting junior currently leads the St. Louis area with 26 hits, ranks second with 19 runs, and is third in batting average at .605 so far this spring. In addition, van Breusegen has 10 stolen bases. She recently reached 100 career hits as an Eagle.
