At about 6:15 p.m., Saturday, Waterloo police and Monroe County EMS responded to a three-car crash with injury on Route 3 south of Park Street in Waterloo.

A blue Chevy Spark and white 2012 Chevy Cruze ran off the road and into a line of small trees, while a Buick Park Avenue came to rest across the roadway, blocking both lanes. One person from the Spark was transported.

That portion of Route 3, between Fast Stop and Library Street, is under construction with limited shoulder access.

Route 3 was closed in both directions for about an hour until the crash scene was cleared.

The driver of the Cruze, Tyler Boren, 23, of Prairie du Rocher, was cited for unlawful passing in a no passing zone and improper lane usage. A charge of DUI against Boren is also pending lab results, police said.

No other details have been released on the crash at this time.
