The Waterloo Fire Department responded to two separate fire incidents about 6 p.m. Sunday, neither of which turned out to be serious.

The first call was for a controlled burn on HH Road that got away from the property owner. That fire was extinguished quickly without much hassle.

Firemen were also paged out for a house fire before leaving for the first call. That fire, on Parkwood Drive, was extinguished by the homeowner prior to fire department arrival. A trash can burned and melted some siding on the home.
