The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Waterloo High School golfer Caden Kite. The freshman won first place as an individual at the Mississippi Valley Conference Tournament with a one-over-par 73 at Belk Park in Wood River. On Saturday, Kite shot a 67 to win the Cardinal Creek Classic hosted by Mascoutah High School and featuring 71 golfers.
