Injury crash on Kaskaskia Road

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department and Monroe County EMS responded around noon Friday to a single-vehicle crash at 3229 Kaskaskia Road. The Maeystown and Waterloo fire departments were paged out for possible extrication but were not needed.

The vehicle involved was a black Chevrolet S10 pickup driven by Kaytlin Patterson, 19, of Fults. She was transported to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. The truck was traveling northbound on Kaskaskia Road when it veered off the roadway to the right, after which the driver overcorrected, causing the truck to leave the roadway to the left and strike a tree, witnesses told police.
