Accident outside Catholic church in Columbia

Columbia police, fire and EMS responded to Immaculate Conception Church on Palmer Road shortly before 9 a.m. Sunday Mass after a car operated by an elderly woman drove over a water shutoff near the church. Emergency personnel were evaluating the driver for a possible medical situation.
The woman declined medical transport by ambulance at the scene.
