Possible coronavirus case at Columbia urgent care

Columbia EMS responded to Gateway Urgent Care at 11 South in Columbia about 2:30 p.m. Friday for a possible coronavirus patient.

According to emergency radio dispatch, the patient was aged in their 60s, reported a high fever and coughing, and had recently traveled.

The patient was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital in Belleville for testing. Monroe County Health Department Administrator John Wagner confirmed that one person was transported for testing. So far, there have been no positive cases of coronavirus in Monroe County.
