The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is righthanded pitcher Jake Stedman from the Millstadt Green Machine of the Mon-Clair League. Stedman improved to 4-0 in league play with a complete game effort Sunday in a win against the Valmeyer Lakers. He has a 2.91 ERA in 33-plus innings with 29 strikeouts. The Belleville West High School graduate recently played for Moberly Area Community College.
