Columbia Police

June 3
Roger D. Phillips, 36, of Bethalto, was arrested for DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, no insurance and disobeying a traffic signal on Admiral Parkway northbound at Carl Street.

June 5
Illinois State Police and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department assisted Columbia police in handling an incident on Route 3 southbound near Gilmore Lake Road around 12:30 p.m., after multiple five gallon buckets of white paint apparently fell off a truck onto the roadway and several vehicles were splattered with paint as a result. The truck continued south on Route 3, but police were unable to locate it. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call 281- 5151.

June 7
A hit-and-run crash was reported on Bluff Road at DD Road around 10:30 p.m. A 2009 Honda Civic driven by Daniel R. Hutson of Columbia was traveling northbound on Bluff and had stopped at the intersection before proceeding when a white suburban type vehicle driven by a white male wearing glasses T-boned the Civic and continued southbound. Hutson complained of minor injuries at the scene, but refused medical transport.

Stephen E. Mitchell, 34, of Waterloo, was arrested for DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol and improper lane usage on Route 3 southbound at Frontage Road.

June 9
Rebecca L. Eldridge, 40, of Millstadt, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis on Davis Street Ferry Road at Old State Route 3.

Devin S. Lambert, 23, of Festus, Mo., was arrested on an in-state warrant on Route 3 southbound at Hilltop Road.

Monroe County Sheriff

June 3
Blake S. Horn of Curryville, Mo., was arrested on Monroe County warrants.

June 4
The theft of a large concrete donkey statue from 677 E. Fourth Street in Waterloo is under investigation.

June 5
A resident on Trout Camp Road reported the theft of both license plates from a 1990 Jeep between May 22 and June 1. The incident is under investigation.

Multiple juveniles were cited for possession of alcohol on Route 3 at South Market Street in Waterloo. Another juvenile was arrested for unlawful possession of a weapon (brass knuckles).

June 7
Dustin Schreder of Waterloo was airlifted by ARCH Air Medical Services helicopter to Saint Louis University Hospital and later released after the vehicle he was driving overturned in the area of VV Road and Carr Road near Renault around 6:20 p.m. Schreder was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and use of unsafe tires.

June 8
Clarence O. Keim, 32, of Red Bud, was arrested for driving while suspended and illegal transportation of alcohol on Route 159 south of Hecker.

Christopher E. Brown of Waterloo was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant and for speeding.

May 30
A 17-year-old female was cited for unlawful consumption of alcohol at Denny’s.

June 6
William E. Wentworth, 33, of Waterloo, was charged with possession of a controlled substance (hydromorphone) following an April 24 traffic stop.

June 7
Garrett Koen, 25, of Waterloo, was arrested for DUI and improper lane usage at 959 N. Illinois Route 3.

A juvenile was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis at 109 South Main Street.

June 9
Gordon Lashmett, 46, of Waterloo, refused medical transport after he swerved to avoid a deer in his 2013 Chevy Impala on Morre Road near Carswold Street and rolled into a ditch around 12:20 a.m.

Rebecca Lynn Krueger, 51, of Waterloo, was arrested for domestic battery.
