Mary Ellen Williams

Mary Ellen Williams, 81, of Centralia, died June 2, 2014, in Centralia.

She was born on Feb. 25, 1933, in Renault, daughter of Matthew and Pearl (Dongon) Ryan. Mary married Dr. Lawrence E. Williams on Feb. 23, 1952 in Waterloo. He survives.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband; children Mark (Pat) Williams of Patoka, Kurt (Sue) Williams of Centralia,  Judy (Lonnie) Stein of Centralia, Eric (Sue) Williams of Salem, Pam Skibinski of Centralia, Missy Gorman of Centralia, Beth Burrus and special friend Todd Dobb of Centralia, Ryan (Leslie) Williams of Centralia; sister Doris (Orrin) Quinn of Red Bud; 25 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, with one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Matt Ryan and sister Lorraine Brueggemann.

She was homemaker. She moved to Centralia in 1963 and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with and doing things for others.

A funeral Mass will take place 11 a.m. June 5 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Centralia.

Visitation will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic School or Church.
