Nine local hockey players will be playing in the MVCHA All-Star Game set for Feb. 3 in East Alton. Six players from the Columbia Ice Eagles — Kyle Eagan, Jake Rein, Mitchell Cookson, Garrett Poole, Josh Fleming and Brendan Poole — will join Waterloo-Freeburg players Austin Patton, Nick Harries and Adam Gauch on the Varsity 1A East team.

The Ice Eagles enjoyed a 3-2 win Thursday over Highland to improve to 7-6-1 on the season. Cookson scored two goals. They then went on to stomp Marquette 12-0 during their “Senior Night” game on Monday in East Alton.

The Raging Bulldogs are 5-8-1 on the season and will face East Alton on Tuesday night.
