Hawks win regional title over Okawville

The Gibault Catholic High School boys basketball team on Friday night avenged a regular season loss by defeating the Lebanon regional’s top seed for the regional title.

The Hawks (23-8) topped Okawville 51-45. Nick Row led the way with 17 points; Wes Degener scored 16 points.

With the win, Gibault advances to the Okawville sectional, where it will face Hardin Calhoun at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

In other Friday night hoops action, Waterloo lost on the road at Civic Memorial to close its regular season. Regionals start next week.

Columbia lose at home to Triad on senior night, also its final regular season game.
