UPDATE: Power was restored Monday to more than 500 Monroe County residents who were without power Sunday evening into Monday morning due to storms and high winds Sunday afternoon.

Most of the 518 Waterloo area residents saw their power come back on by around 6:30 p.m. Ameren said 186 customers were without power Monday morning, with another 108 without power in Maeystown had electricity by 6:30 a.m. Monday.

The Waterloo Fire Department responded to a report of a field fire in the area of 1700 Lakeview Drive on Sunday night. Ameren Illinois was working in that vicinity and reported they had cut the power to the surrounding area while the fire department dealt with the situation.
