Car veers off road, strikes house near Dupo

Miraculously, no injuries were reported after a car veered off the roadway and struck the corner of a house east of Dupo before overturning shortly before midnight late Wednesday night.

Columbia fire and EMS personnel assisted the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department with the crash, which occurred on Imbs Station Road near Wood Trail Lane.

A white Toyota rental car driven by Michael Golightly of East Carondelet went off the roadway to the left at a curve in the road and struck the corner of a home owned by Curtis Hass at 1635 Imbs Station Road.

Golightly was seen walking around following the crash and declined medical transport. No occupants of the modular home were harmed in the incident.
