Thursday crash in Columbia

Emergency personnel responded shortly before 1:30 p.m. Thursday to a two-vehicle injury crash on Route 3 at Admiral Weinel Boulevard near Walgreens in Columbia.

Responding agencies included the Columbia police, fire and EMS departments.

Police said a red 2007 Toyota Corolla driven by Jeanette Schroeder, 42, of Columbia, ran the red light on Route 3 southbound, resulting in a collision with a dark-colored 2018 GMC SUV driven by Andria Hursch, 38, of Waterloo, which was turning right from Admiral Weinel Boulevard onto Route 3 southbound.

Both drivers were transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County for treatment of non-serious injuries. Schroeder was cited for disobeying a traffic signal.
