The Waterloo and Columbia fire departments responded to a Tuesday afternoon shed fire at 449 Hamacher Street across from Osterhage Drive in Waterloo.

The Waterloo Fire Department was paged to the scene at about 2:50 p.m. Initial reports indicated that there were gas cans inside the shed, which also had a vehicle inside. The shed has an attic level that firefighters worked to clear of items as part of extinguishing the blaze.

The owner of the property is listed as Neil Parrin.

A fire official said the property owner believes a space heater to be the cause of the fire.
