Columbia Police

Dec. 9 – Bradley P. Lane, 24, of Columbia, was arrested for
domestic battery at 2621 Columbia Lakes Drive.

Dec. 12 – Christopher T. Stewart of Columbia was arrested for
possession of cannabis (more than 10 grams but less than 30
grams) and on a Monroe County warrant at 224 W. Warnock
Street.

Dec. 13 – Kara Hencke, 24, of Columbia, was arrested on a St.
Clair County warrant on I-255.

Dec. 15 – Two residential burglaries are under investigation in
Columbia. The first occurred Dec. 4 in the 2600 block of Brookfield
Court, when a suspect made entry into a residence by breaking
out glass on the back door. The second residential burglary
occurred Dec. 15 in the 400 block of Brellinger, when an unknown
person made entry by breaking glass on the back door. A variety of
items were stolen from both residences, police said. Anyone with
information on either case is asked to contact the CPD at 281-
5151.

Monroe County Sheriff

Dec. 8 – Jay Tomlin, 23, of Waterloo, was arrested on an in-state
warrant.

Dec. 9 – A possible violation of an order of protection on South
Fork Road is under investigation.

Dec. 10 – Austin Pyle, 19, of Cahokia, was arrested on a Monroe
County warrant issued on the original charge of burglary.

Dec. 11 – Brandon Auth, 23, of Columbia, was arrested on an
in-state warrant.

Waterloo Police

Dec. 7 – James Avery, 49, of Waterloo, is charged with theft
after he allegedly stole a chainsaw from JD Small Engine Repair.

Dec. 11 – Thomas J. Clark, 38, of Fults, was arrested for possession
of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of ammunition
without a valid FOID card on David Street at Route 3.

Dec. 13 – Casey Blanchard, 23, of Waterloo, was arrested for
DUI and disobeying a traffic control device.

Dec. 14 – Police and EMS handled two injury crashes within
three hours at the intersection of Route 3 and South Market Street.
The first occurred at about noon and involved a Mercury Grand
Marquis driven by Theodore Lerch, 85, of Red Bud, and 2014
Chevrolet Silverado driven by Randy Osterhage, 61, of Waterloo.
Lerch was transported by ambulance to Red Bud Regional Hospital
for medical treatment. The second crash occurred shortly before
3 p.m. and involved a 2004 Ford Mustang driven by a 17-year-old
Red Bud man and a 2014 Nissan Sentra driven by Amy Morris, 38,
of Waterloo. Morris was transported to Red Bud Regional Hospital
for medical treatment. Quinn was cited for disobeying a traffic
control device.

Dec. 15 – An Illinois State Police crime scene unit was called to
assist in the investigation of a residential break-in reported at 405
South Library Street shortly after 6:30 p.m. Forced entry was
gained by kicking in a rear door, police said, and a bullet hole was
found in a television inside the home. A shell casing was reportedly
found on the floor. Nothing appeared to have been stolen from
the home. No one was inside the home at the time of the incident,
according to Melodie Mize, who resides at that address.
