The Republic-Times Athlete of the Week is Columbia High School football standout Owen Suedkamp. The junior linebacker, who was recently selected to the Class 4A IHSFCA All-State team, was also honored during the team’s recent football banquet for breaking the single-season school record for tackles at 116.

Suedkamp is pictured with former CHS football player Bob Hill, who had held the team tackles record for 23 years.
